Carle to start flu clinics

URBANA — Another flu season is right around the corner, and community flu shot clinics through Carle will start next week.

Flu season typically peaks in the U.S. in January and February, but can start as early as next month, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Carle says it plans to run public clinics through Nov. 15 throughout East Central Illinois, and will also offer a drive-through option next month at Vineyard Christian Fellowship Church, Urbana.

Here is the schedule:

Carle, 141 W. Garfield Ave., Cissna Park:

Oct. 1 and Oct. 29: 4-6 p.m.

Walk-in flu shots for adult patients only. No nasal FluMist.

Carle, 311 W. Fairchild, Danville:

Sept. 28: 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Walk-in flu shots for adults only. No FluMist.

Carle, 801 E. Orange St., Hoopeston:

Sept. 26: 8 a.m. to noon.

Walk-in flu shots for adults only. No FluMist.

Carle, 200 Lerna Road South, Mattoon:

Oct. 28 and Oct. 30: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Walk-in flu shots for 6 months and older. No Pneumovax or FluMist.

Carle, 322 Chicago St., Milford:

Oct. 1 and Oct. 8: 3-5 p.m.

Walk-in flu shots for adults only. No FluMist.

Carle, 1818 E. Windsor Road, U:

Oct. 7 to Nov. 15: Weekdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Oct. 12: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Walk-in flu shots for 6 months and older. Pneumovax for adults only. FluMist for ages 2 and older.

Vineyard Christian Fellowship Church, 1500 N. Lincoln Ave., U:

Oct. 2-4: 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Oct. 5: 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Vaccines will be administered in the building Oct. 2, and a drive-through will also be available Oct. 3-5.

Flu shots for six months and older. Pneumovax for adults only. FluMist for ages two and older.

Carle, 301 E. Southline Road, Tuscola:

Oct. 19: 8:30-11:30 a.m.

Flu shots only for ages nine and older. No FluMist or Pneumovax.

Carle, 845 S. Fourth St., Watseka:

Oct. 8 and Oct. 22: 8 a.m. to noon.

Walk-in flu shots for adults only. No FluMist.

No appointment is necessary at the community flu clinics, according to Carle.

Carle Physician Group patients can choose direct billing but must bring their clinic number and insurance card with them. Medicare patients must bring their Medicare cards for direct billing.

Non-Medicare or non-Carle Physician Group patients should be prepared to pay at the time of service. Seasonal flu shots are $30, FluMist is $40 and Pneumovax is $65.
