Finalists named for Champaign fire chief

The City of Champaign has narrowed down the list of fire chief candidates to five, and the group contains one familiar face.

The city is looking to replace Doug Forsman, who will retire in December, and said the five finalists will be interviewed next week.

Those finalists are:  Champaign Fire Deputy Chief Steve Clarkson; Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Fire Chief Richard Ennis; Pinkerton Governmental Services in Peoria, Illinois, Fire Chief Charles Lauss; Oak Lawn, Illinois, Fire Chief George Sheets and Meriden, Connecticut, retired Fire Chief James Trainor.

The city said it will make a final selection in the next few weeks.
