There are a lot of drivers in need of remedial driving instructions in Illinois. More often than not I see drivers entering the highway expecting those in traffic to make way for them, when it's the responsibility of the person entering traffic to merge safely. Unfortunately this person won't have another chance.

My wife, and I were in the westbound lane when the man was being covered up until the cornerer arrived.

The man is dead.  Sympathy to his family.  Why not leave it at that?  No sense pontificating on his error in judgement which led to his death.
