Illinois call center ready for health insurance questions

CHICAGO — If you’ve got a question about the state’s health insurance marketplace as it opens Tuesday, you’ll be able to get information through a state call center after all.

The toll-free help desk for the marketplace, which is being called Get Covered Illinois, will open in time for its launch, state officials said.

Last week, officials warned Illinois callers needing help might have to direct questions to a federal call center until the state call center got up and running.

The state call center will take calls from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week at 866-311-1119.
