Local charities offering Halloween costumes for needy kids

There's some help for area families who want their children to be able to take part in Halloween events but can't afford it.

A spokesman for Land of Lincoln Goodwill Industries, Patrick Andersen, said the organization's stores carry a lot of Halloween-themed items during the season to help people who otherwise might not be able to afford those items.

Andersen said the store offers a variety of Halloween costumes and decor for both children and adults that won't break the bank.

Andersen added that there are a lot of people in the area who are going through a tough time financially, and that it's extremely rewarding to be able to give families the opportunity to share the holiday together by offering affordable products.

Anderson said the Halloween items are available at all Goodwill retail locations throughout Central Illinois.

Meanwhile, similar organizations in our area, such as The Salvation Army, are offering Halloween items throughout the month as well.
