Three injured in crash near Bondville

BONDVILLE — Three people were taken to the hospital Thursday morning with injuries from a two-vehicle accident just north of Bondville.

Champaign County Sheriff's Sgt. Dan Coile said the accident happened at 8:33 a.m. at the intersection of 500 E and 1700 N.

The driver of a blue Chrysler Sebring that was headed west on 1700 N apparently failed to yield at the stop sign and collided with a Mercury Mariner that was southbound on 500 E. The Mariner apparently rolled over.

Two occupants in it, including a 6-year-old boy, were taken to the hospital while one person in the Sebring was transported. All of them went to Carle Foundation Hospital, Coile said. He did not immediately have their names.

None of them appeared to have life-threatening injuries, he said.
