Georgetown man arrested over break-in

DANVILLE — Danville police have arrested a 42-year-old Georgetown man in connection with the burglary of a Danville business. And police are investigating whether he may have been involved in a string of burglaries at other area businesses.

Doug Miller, deputy director of the Danville police department, said seven Danville businesses reported to police Saturday morning either burglaries or attempted burglaries at their establishments.

Miller said police arrested a Georgetown man Saturday afternoon in connection with a burglary one week ago at Tienda Mexican store, 3716 N. Vermilion St. Miller said police are not yet releasing his name as they continue to investigate whether he may be involved in another burglary that occurred one week ago at Kevin and Company, 3607 N. Vermilion St., and those that were reported Saturday morning.

Those reported Saturday were burglaries at Back Door Pizza, 1000 N. Bowman Ave., Illini Skateland, 8 Brewer Road, Fuzzy's Bar, 853 E. Fairchild St., and KFC, 12 N. Bowman Ave., and attempted burglaries at Salon Centric, 1113 E. Main St., Suite C, and XOXO Beauty Supply, 1113 E. Main St., Suite B.
