Bond set in aggravated criminal sexual abuse case

URBANA — A 21-year-old Philo man's bond was set at $100,000 on Friday after he allegedly had sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old runaway who had been staying with him.

Jesse Corley is charged with one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to Champaign County State's Attorney Julia Rietz. Prosecutors allege that Corley had sex with a minor on July 19.

Rietz said Corley admitted to knowing that the minor was 14 years old.

Corley was arrested Friday on a warrant that had been issued Oct. 18. His next court appearance in Champaign County court is scheduled for Dec. 17.

Corley also faces charges in Vermilion County of harboring a runaway for the same situation, Rietz said. He'll next appear on Nov. 14 there.
