URBANA — The Champaign Urbana Schools Foundation will host its second Adult Spelling Bee fundraiser from 6 to 10 p.m. Nov. 9 at the Urbana Civic Center.

Three-adult teams will compete for the "Best of the Hive" trophy. One new factor: the three top-placing teams will be able to choose a school to receive physical education equipment with money provided by sponsors.

Other prizes will be awarded for things like best costume and best team spirit, and eight local public school principals will judge the competition.

Both teams and the spectators supporting them can buy passes for teams to skip a word, and spectators can also bet on the teams they think will win.

The event will feature Hickory River Smokehouse catering and a cash bar.

The foundation is still seeking teams for the event. The team entry fee is $150 for a team of three, and teams can sign up at http://cuschoolsfoundation.org/events/bee.

Spectator passes are $25 per person. All proceeds support the work of the Champaign Urbana Schools Foundation.
