Caregivers can find resources at VA event

DANVILLE — The Veterans Affairs llliana Health Care System will host a caregiver resource fair on Nov. 6.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Building 101-5 and 101-6 day rooms on the main campus, 1900 E. Main St., Danville.

It is free and open to those who care for loved ones no matter what their age.

The event is being held to mark National Family Caregivers Month, which is in November.

The fair will provide education about available resources for veterans and their caregivers.

It will feature exhibits from local organizations. VA staff will also have booths providing information on caregiver tips, available programs and resources.

According to the VA, statistics show that roughly 66 million unpaid caregivers provide care to injured veterans, aging adults, children with special needs and individuals with chronic medical needs.
