Man injured, ticketed in crash

RURAL RANKIN — Illinois State Police are investigating a single car crash on this morning that injured a 29-year-old Paxton man.

Dean Andrew Anderson, the only person involved in the accident, was taken to Presence Covenant Medical Center in Urbana, where he was treated for minor injuries and released, according to a spokeswoman.

The accident occurred at 6:58 a.m. on 3700 North Road a tenth of a mile east of 170 East Road in the northwestern corner of Vermilion County, according to a report.

The report said Anderson's was driving east on 3700 North, a gravel road, when he lost control of his 2004 Nissan Sentra. The car left the road, crossed a ditch and went in to a harvested field. It then rolled over several times and caught on fire, becoming fully engulfed in flames.

Anderson was wearing a seat belt.

Anderson was taken to the hospital by Pro Ambulance, and his car was towed from the scene by Zalaker's Towing in Paxton. He was issued a ticket for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
