Home invasion reported in Vermilion County

DANVILLE — The Vermilion County sheriff's department is investigating a home invasion that was reported shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday at a rural residence north of Danville.

Bill Hurt, an investigator with the sheriff's department, said deputies got the call at 12:47 a.m. Wednesday that a home invasion had occurred at a rural residence. Hurt would not disclose the road where the crime happened or how many suspects there were or how many people were in the residence at the time of the home invasion. He said there were minor injuries to the victims, but they did not require treatment at a hospital, and he would not describe the injuries.

Hurt said items were stolen from the residence, including a Buick Lesabre that was recovered in Danville around 7 a.m. Wednesday. Hurt would not disclose where in Danville the vehicle was recovered. Hurt said no other details about the crime were being released as they continue their investigation.
