Events to offer info on health marketplace

URBANA — There will be two opportunities to learn more about the Affordable Care Act and Get Covered Illinois, the state-federal health marketplace, on Saturday in Champaign-Urbana.

The Champaign-Urbana Public Health District will offer one of 160 "Cover Your Community" events Saturday, a large one-day education push to educate people about the health marketplace and opportunities to enroll in coverage.

The health district will be providing information at Market at the Square, which will be held from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday at Lincoln Square at the corner of Illinois and Vine streets, Urbana.

Also, Champaign County Health Care Consumers will offer a free public community meeting at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Champaign Public Library, 200 W. Green St., C.

Health Care Consumers will provide information on types of health insurance offered through the marketplace, financial assistance to make insurance affordable and how to enroll in health coverage.

Speakers at the meeting will also address some of the common problems applicants have faced when applying and how to navigate the different applications.
