Updated: Champaign drivers license facility reopens after suspected gas leak

Activities have returned to normal at the driver's license facility in west Champaign after the fire department was called there on Tuesday.

A facility spokesperson said this morning, some employees thought they smelled sewer gas at the building at 2401 West Bradley Avenue.  The facility was evacuated, but crews didn't find anything wrong.

Who is the landlord for the building?  CMS does the leases based on "selection".  Usually, the landlord is a "campaign donor"?  State employees are usually told to call the landlord; and not call the fire department.  Evidently, the employees felt their "health, and safety" warranted calling the fire department.  How many incidents have happened at this particular faciltiy?   45264645
