Updated: charge filed in Piatt County archery accident

A rural Cerro Gordo man is facing a reckless conduct charge in connection with an archery accident last month.

Piatt County State's Attorney Dana Rhoades filed the charge Tuesday against 21 year-old Andrew Dick.  Rhoades said Dick accidentally shot a girl in the head with an arrow on Oct. 10.

Rhoades added that Dick was fatigued when he shot the arrow and that safety rules were not being followed at the time of the incident.

The victim was earlier listed in critical condition at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, but the hopsital had no update on her condition Tuesday.
