Ogden extends leaf pickup

OGDEN — The village board has decided to extend the community's leaf pickup.

Leaves and brush in paper yard bags will be picked up on the third Monday of November.

The village is reminding residents of the local burning policy. Only grass clippings, tree limbs, leaves, flower garden materials, bushes and plants growing on the resident's property may be burned.

Recreational, campfires, charcoal and gas grills are allowed. Burning of paint or hazardous waste is prohibited.

No fires between sunset and sunrise or when wind, dryness or weather conditions prevent fires from being controlled.

Burning restricted to private property only with the exception of leaf burning Oct. 1 through Dec. 15 and only on rocked parkways and private property.

Burning no closer than 20 feet to buildings or other properties and no closer than 10 feet to bushes or trees.

All fires must be attended by an adult.
