Bank robbery reported in Champaign

CHAMPAIGN — Police are investigating a reported bank robbery Wednesday afternoon in Champaign.

According to a Champaign police report, officers were called to PNC Bank, 1771 W. Kirby Ave., at 4:20 p.m.

Champaign Police spokeswoman Rene Dunn said a man entered the bank displaying a dark-colored handgun and demanded money from a teller.

The man then left the bank with cash and headed north on foot, possibly crossing Kirby Avenue.

“The suspect is described as a black male with glasses who appeared to be in his early to mid 30s,” Dunn said in a written release. “He was wearing a gray hooded zippered sweatshirt, a short-billed olive-green cap, dark-colored scarf, purple gloves, blue jeans, and light-blue-colored gym shoes with lime-green trimming.”

No injuries were reported. Dunn said seven employees were in the bank at the time of the robbery.

He can't be that hard to find.  How many black dudes in town own purple gloves and light-blue-colored gym shoes with lime-green trimming?
