Traffic being rerouted for Downtown Parade of Lights

CHAMPAIGN — Drivers in and around downtown Champaign will want to take note of traffic rerouting to accommodate the 13th annual Downtown Parade of Lights in Champaign on Saturday evening.

Even though the parade doesn't start until 6 p.m., the following streets will close at 5 p.m. and remain closed until about 8 p.m.

— Neil Street between University Avenue and Columbia Street.

— Main Street between Neil and Chestnut streets.

— Washington Street between Neil and Walnut streets.

— Chester Street between Market and Neil streets.

— Walnut Street between Washington Street and University Avenue.

All vehicles in this area will need to be relocated before 4 p.m.

Free parking will be available in the Hill Street parking deck Saturday.
