November was colder, drier than normal in C-U

This past month in Champaign-Urbana was colder and drier than average.

That's according to State Climatologist Jim Angel, who said the average temperature in C-U in November was 38.5 degrees.  That's around three degrees below normal.  Statewide, the average temperature last month was 38.3 degrees, around four degrees below normal.  While it was a cold month, Angel said it was nowhere near the coldest November on record in Illinois.  That was in 1976, where we saw an average temperature of 33.6 degrees.

Looking at precipitation, we saw around 1.5 inches in Champaign-Urbana last month.  That's around two inches below normal.  Statewide, precipitation checked in at 2.6 inches.  That's around one inch below normal.
