Danville police arrest 4 in armed robbery
DANVILLE — Danville police have made multiple arrests in connection with an armed robbery at a tobacco store earlier this week.
Danville Public Safety Director Larry Thomason said four people — three adults and a juvenile, all of Danville — were arrested at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday at a residence in the 500 block of Lafayette Street, Danville, for an armed robbery at Discount Tobacco Warehouse, 501 N. Vermilion St., shortly before 11:30 a.m. Monday. The 54-year-old shop attendant was injured in the robbery when one of the suspects hit him over the head, knocking him to the floor. His injuries did not require medical treatment. The suspects ordered the attendant to give up an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, then ran from the business.
The four arrested Tuesday are Robert M. Parker, 21; Davon D. Parker, 20; April M. Osborne, 36; and a 16-year-old male, whose name is not being released because he is a juvenile.
According to Thomason, Robert Parker was charged with armed robbery, aggravated battery and unlawful use of a weapon. Davon Parker and the 16-year-old were charged with armed robbery, and April Osborne was charged with armed robbery and with having no firearm owner's identification card. Each is being held without bond awaiting formal charges through the Vermilion County State's Attorney's office.
Thomason said the arrests took place without incident after detectives developed leads in the case. Some money was recovered, as was a firearm.
