Motorcyclist involved in accident dies

URBANA - A Champaign motorcyclist who was involved in an accident in north Champaign on Wednesday evening has died.

Thomas R. Burk, 27, was pronounced dead at 12:20 p.m. Thursday at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, according to Champaign County Coroner Duane E. Northrup.

No autopsy will be performed. An inquest may be held at a later date

Burk was involved in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Interstate Drive and Boardwalk Avenue in Champaign. Police found a heavily damaged Suzuki motorcycle in the middle of the intersection and its gravely injured driver being attended to by passersby. Debris from the motorcycle was scattered about the intersection.

The accident is under investigation.
