Robberies reported in Dobbins Downs
The Champaign County sheriff's office is seeking help identifying the man or men who robbed a pizza delivery man and a repairman at gunpoint in separate incidents this week in Dobbins Downs, just outside the Champaign city limits.
About 9:45 p.m. Sunday, a pizza delivery business was bringing food to the 1500 block of Kings Way. When the driver arrived at what appeared to be a vacant home, he was robbed at gunpoint of cash and the food he was delivering. The robber was described as a black man in his late teens to mid-20s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds and wearing dark baggy clothing, black fingerless gloves and a gray scarf.
In the second incident, at about 8 p.m. Monday, a repairman was finishing work in the 1600 block of Dobbins Downs. As he prepared to leave the area, he was robbed at gunpoint of cash. The robber was described as a black man in his late teens to mid-20s, about 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 215 pounds and wearing dark, baggy clothing and a dark coat with a red patch on the right chest and large red letters on the back of the coat in the shape of an arch.
