Parking ban lifted on Champaign snow routes

CHAMPAIGN — The city of Champaign lifted its parking ban on city snow routes at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Normal parking regulations are now in effect, according to public works administrative services supervisor Kris Koester.

However, if the city gets any snowfall of an additional 2 inches or more, the parking ban will be reinstated, he said.

Affected snow routes include:
— University Avenue from State Street to Mattis Avenue.
— Church Street from State to Mattis.
— State from Bradley Avenue to Kirby Avenue.
— Randolph Street from Bradley to Hessel Boulevard.

Anyone who thinks his or her vehicle was towed from one of these locations is asked to check with the public works department or the Champaign Police Department (351-4545).

Vehicles towed from this area were relocated to the north side of the Champaign Police Department, 82 E. University Ave., C. Owners should check in at the front desk before removing their vehicles.
