Two women injured in crash in rural Atwood

ATWOOD — Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash late Wednesday afternoon in rural Atwood.

According to a state police report, Amy Chromchak, 22, who listed an address in Atwood, was driving on U.S. 36 at 5:30 p.m. when she lost control of her vehicle and went into a ditch.

Mary Conner, 82, who listed an address in Hammond, was trying to avoid Chromchak’s vehicle when she lost control of her vehicle on snow-covered  pavement and hit Chromchak’s vehicle.

Both Chromchak and Conner were taken to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, which had no information on their condition on Wednesday night.

No tickets had been issued as of Wednesday night.
