Man arrested in molestation case
URBANA — A Mahomet man charged with sexually molesting children in his care was arrested Wednesday.
Joshua Huddleston, 34, who listed an address on County Road 2500 N, was scheduled to be arraigned in Champaign County Circuit Court Thursday for predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Champaign County sheriff's Lt. Curt Apperson said his department was notified early this month of alleged sexual improprieties between Huddleston and two children under the age of 13 that had been going on for about three years.
An investigator from his office and the Department of Children and Family Services interviewed the children, leading to a warrant being issued for Huddleston's arrest on Dec. 6, Apperson said. The charges allege conduct that occurred after Feb. 1, 2013.
Huddleston was located by a sheriff's detective in Danville on Wednesday and arrested. He's being held in the Champaign County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bond.
If convicted of the more serious predatory criminal sexual assault charge, Huddleston faces a mandatory prison term of between six and 30 years.
