Pipe break closes Salvation Army thrift store

CHAMPAIGN — The Salvation Army's thrift store at 109 W. John St., C, is temporarily closed due to water damage from a pipe break.

Salvation Army board member Steve Hamburg said the pipe break occurred Monday morning.

"We have 3 inches of standing water in the building," Hamburg said. "While a work crew is in the process of addressing the problem, we are going to be down for several days."

Hamburg advises customers to visit the Salvation Army's Red Shield Center at 2212 N. Market St., C, which remains open.
