Gibson City officials welcome TIF district extension

The Mayor of Gibson City said the extension of the city's tax-increment-financing district will bring infrastructure and new homes to the area.

Dan Dickey said Governor Pat Quinn recently extended the city's TIF district, which will impact the city's industrial park and two new residential developments on the west and north sides of town, including an assisted living facility.

Dickey added that most of the development in the community wouldn't have been possible without the help of TIF districts.

Dickey also said that workers have already broken ground on the assisted living facility. Construction is scheduled to start this spring.
