'Lucky PBL 4' to receive Powerball checks

PAXTON — Illinois Lottery officials will present oversized ceremonial checks Thursday to a group of three employees and one former employee of the Paxton-Buckley-Loda school district that won $1 million in the Nov. 23 Powerball drawing.

The group, which calls itself "The Lucky PBL 4," bought a three-month Powerball subscription on the Lottery's website in October.

Lottery officials said the $1 million prize will be paid in a one-time payment of $700,000, after required state and federal withholdings of 5 and 25 percent, respectively.

The check presentation will be done at 1:30 p.m. outside the main entrance to PBL High School, 700 W. Orleans St., Paxton.
