Urbana woman arrested for burglary

URBANA — An Urbana woman was arrested for residential burglary after allegedly entering a neighbor's home while he slept early Friday.

An Urbana police said about 3:15 a.m., a 37-year-old man living in the 1500 block of Ivanhoe Way reported that he was asleep on his couch when he heard noises in his bedroom.

He found Dejacqueline Chatman, 30, who listed an address in the 1300 block of Ivanhoe Way, in his bedroom. When he asked her what she was doing, she left through a bedroom window. After she left, he noticed documents, his wallet and an electronic gaming system missing and called police about 4:10 a.m.

Chatman was arrested by Urbana police later in the day.

She appeared Saturday morning in court, where a judge set her bond at $15,000.

She is expected to be formally charged on Monday.
