No plan yet from state committee to change education funding

A group of Illinois lawmakers is still looking to come up with a plan to change the way schools in the state are funded.

The Education Funding Advisory Committee met on the issue on Monday in what was supposed to be its final meeting.  However a member of the committee, Republican Senator Jason Barickman of Bloomington, said the group was not able to reach an agreement.  So, another meeting has been scheduled for Jan. 29 in Springfield.

The goal of the committee is to bring a plan to the legislature that would change the state's school funding formula so that every district is getting a fair amount of money.
