Rantoul man treated after 1-vehicle crash

RANTOUL — A Rantoul man was taken to the hospital Tuesday morning after being injured in a single-vehicle accident on slick pavement, according to state police.

Jonathan D. Carey, 41, was taken to Presence Covenant Medical Center in Urbana, where he was treated and released.

Carey was driving south on U.S. 45 at 8:17 a.m. when he lost control of the Ford Explorer on slick pavement just south of Champaign County Road 2700, crossed the median and came to rest overturned on the east shoulder of the U.S. 45, police said.

Editor's note: The state police originally said a ticket had been issued in this crash. On Jan. 15, state police said that was a mistake, and no ticket was issued.
