Assistance sought for family of Farmer City fire victim

The family of a man who died in a fire on Tuesday afternoon in DeWitt County is in need of donations to help begin the recovery process.

Thirty-three year-old Justin West was killed in the blaze that began around 3 p.m. at 705 East High Street in Farmer City.

A Facebook page called "Helping the West Family" has been set up detailing the needs of Justin's wife Tiffany and her two young sons, one of which is about a year old.  Clothing and baby items like diapers, formula and toiletries are needed for the family.  Donations can be dropped off at Main Street Video and Family Health Clinic in Farmer City.

A fund has also been set up at Heartland Bank and Trust in Farmer City to help with funeral costs.

The Illinois State Fire Marshal's office is continuing to investigate the cause of the fire.
