Traffic backup on I-74 near Oakwood

OAKWOOD - A semitrailer tractor truck that slid on a snow-slick Interstate 74 has traffic backed up in Vermilion County Thursday morning.

A trooper from the Illinois State Police post at Pesotum said the eastbound semi slid near the Oakwood exit and jackknifed between the guardrails about 6:45 a.m. The driver was not injured.

Tow trucks were taking the truck and another crashed vehicle west in the eastbound lanes of I-74, creating a long backup.

This morning's light snow is creating slick conditions. Motorists are urged to slow down.
