Man arrested for Hardee's holdup

URBANA — A Champaign man is being held at the Champaign County Jail on $25,000 bond following his arrest this weekend in connection with the robbery of a fast-food restaurant.

Antonio Maurice Gibson, 40, who listed an address in the 1600 block of Sheffield Road, Champaign, was arrested on a charge of felony armed robbery.

According to a police report, a man identified as Gibson entered Hardee’s, 1806 W. Bradley Ave., C, at 5:31 a.m. Sunday. The man displayed a weapon and demanded money.

Police later arrested Gibson and took him to the county jail. Gibson is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.

Information on what kind of weapon was displayed, whether the money was recovered, whether anybody was hurt or where and how police found and arrested Gibson was not available Monday.
