Three men sought in holdup in Champaign

CHAMPAIGN — Champaign police are looking for three armed men who robbed three men at a Champaign apartment Tuesday afternoon.

Police were sent to the Garden Village apartment complex at 2006 N. Mattis Ave., C, about 12:45 p.m.

A release from police spokeswoman Rene Dunn said three masked men entered an apartment and displayed handguns.

Dunn said a resident overheard a robbery taking place and contacted an employee of the apartment complex. When the employee went to the apartment to investigate, he and two of the apartment's residents were tied up and robbed. None reported being physically injured.

All three intruders ran from the apartment and were last seen in a two-door white vehicle heading east on Bloomington Road.

The intruders were all described as being in their early 20s, wearing black ski or facial masks, black or dark-colored hooded shirts, and blue jeans,
