More art at Meadowbrook

During balmy weather last Sunday, Skye and I walked at Meadowbrook Park in Urbana. This stormwater-drain mural by University of Illinois student Kristin Rose on the park's north side stopped us — temporarily. The bridge behind it will be closed until a special seal can be put over the mural this spring.

Steely Dave

Forget the country twang associated with steel pedal. Dave Easley can make his sound like a sitar, organ, guitar and other things. He, percussionist Michael Powers and Bob Watson on his new Fender Telecaster guitar turned in an entertaining, three-hour jam Wednesday night at The Iron Post. Glad I was there.

Go to Indi Go

Michael Johnson's pristine large-format silver/gelatin photographs, part of "Forest to Table" at Indi Go Artist Co-op in Champaign, knocked my socks off. So did Daniel Schneider's midcentury style furniture, some built with wood from Johnson's tree farm. Last chance to see the show: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.
