Police investigate home invasion

URBANA — Police are investigating a report of a shot fired during a home invasion Sunday morning at an Urbana apartment.

According to a police report, three men forced their way into an apartment in the 2000 block of Vawter Street at 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

A 23-year-old man who lived there said that one of the intruders pointed a pistol at his head and threatened to kill him.

A struggle ensued, and the pistol discharged within the apartment.

The resident then left the apartment and ran to a gas station.

The description of the intruders was incomplete.
