UI forum on 'digital hate' rescheduled

URBANA — A University of Illinois forum on "digital hate," scheduled in response to the vitriolic responses posted online when Chancellor Phyllis Wise decided to keep the campus open during recent cold weather, has been rescheduled due to snow in the forecast.

The discussion, called "One Campus: Moving Beyond Digital Hate," was planned for Tuesday evening. It has been moved to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, due to winter storm watch issued for the region on Tuesday.

The forum will be in the Great Hall in the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, 500 S. Goodwin Ave., U.

According to the UI, the event is designed for students, faculty, staff and members of community to talk about concerns, ideas and opportunities in how the use of social media affects the campus community.
