Twitter chat on proposed new high school site set for Feb. 11

CHAMPAIGN — Twitter users can chat and learn about the newly selected site for Champaign Central High School at a Twitter chat Tuesday.

The school board announced last month that it wants to build a new high school

northeast of Neil Street and Interstate Drive.
The #AskUnit4 chat will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 11 on Twitter.

“Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of district administrators and board members about the new high school site and the factors that impacted the site selection,” said district community relations coordinator Stephanie Stuart.

The Twitter chat is co-sponsored by the Unit 4 school district and the Champaign County Economic Development Corporation.

Stuart and Carly McCrory, communications director for the Champaign County EDC, will both moderate the chat. Various representatives from the school district will be on hand to answer questions.

Stuart said the chat is important because parents, students and community members all have a stake in the future of our District.

“We want to be able to facilitate a meaningful discussion on why the new site for Central High School was selected and what it means for our district and community,” she said.

To participate, log in to Twitter and search for hashtag #AskUnit4. To be included in the chat, the hashtag must be included in your tweets.
