What would have happened if the victim had not cooperated and gone to the ATM as ordered at gunpoint?

What if the perpetrator took the money and then eliminated the witness/victim?

Why should we trust the word of a man willing to threaten us with a gun, that he will not hurt us if we cooperate?

What would have happened if the victim had exercised his right to concealed carry?
