Shot fired through floor

URBANA — No arrests had been reported on Sunday night in connection with an incident in Urbana in which a shot was fired through the floor of one apartment into another one below where five people were staying.

According to a police  report, someone shot a firearm through the floor of an apartment in the 1700 block of East Florida Avenue, Urbana, at 4 p.m. Friday.

The shot entered an apartment in which a 48-year-old woman, a 26-year-old woman, a 9-year-old girl, a 5-year-old boy and a 3-year-old boy were staying. No information was available as to whether anybody was hurt.

When police entered the upper floor apartment, they found firearms, suspected illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia in that apartment.

The description of the offender or offenders was incomplete on Sunday night.

I hope everyone in the apartment below was okay. I hate that they live in such an insecure environment and I hope that can be helped.
