Flood watch issued for portion of East Central Illinois

A flood watch has been issued for a portion of East Central Illinois from late Wednesday night to Thursday afternoon.  The counties included in the flood watch are Champaign, DeWitt, Macon, Piatt, Vermilion, Ford and Iroquois.

The National Weather Service said one to 1.5 inches of rain is expected.  Combine that with the ongoing snow melt and flooding is expected to occur.   You're advised to not drive over flooded roads and secure outdoor items so they are not washed away.
