Man faces drug, theft charges

URBANA — A Champaign man who allegedly had about three ounces of cannabis in his apartment this week was criminally charged Friday.

Zamarlon Parker, 23, of the 1100 block of North Third Street, was charged with possession with intent to deliver cannabis as well as felony theft after a stolen computer was found in his apartment.

Assistant State's Attorney Tim Sullivan said Urbana police detectives had obtained a search warrant for Parker's apartment and on Thursday found just over three ounces (109 grams) of cannabis in three different locations in the apartment. They also found plastic bags and scales indicative of drug sales, he said.

In the apartment was a MacBook Air laptop computer that had allegedly been stolen from the Adult Learning Lab, 300 S. Broadway Ave., U.

Judge John Kennedy set bond in both cases at a total of $17,500 and told Parker to be back in court March 4.
