Woman injured in two-vehicle crash

CHAMPAIGN — One person was hospitalized following a two-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon between a car and an SUV in which the SUV crashed into a house in Champaign.

According to a Champaign Fire Department report, firefighters were called to a crash at University and Mattis avenues at 3:09 p.m.

The report said the car ran a red light and crashed into the SUV. The SUV then smashed into a house northeast of the intersection.

A woman driving one of the vehicles was taken to an Urbana hospital for treatment. The woman driving the other vehicle refused treatment.

Their names were not available Wednesday night.
