Woman sentenced to probation in theft case

URBANA — An Oakwood woman who admitted stealing while on the job has been sentenced to 18 months of probation.

Jodi Lane, 40, pleaded guilty Monday before Champaign County Judge Harry Clem to a single count of felony theft, admitting that in November, she stole jewelry from the Champaign home of a woman for whom she cleaned.

The woman reported to Champaign County sheriff's deputies in November that on two occasions after Lane had been in her home, items of jewelry were missing.

Lane was also ordered to make restitution of $630 and perform 30 hours of public service.
