The first day of spring brings to mind ...
Meteorologist Greg Soulje said we might reach the average high (51 degrees) this afternoon with plenty of sunshine and a light wind.
"As for the spring season itself, many to most days may feature anything but a day like today. A cooler- to colder-than-normal temperature and wet (perhaps very wet) outlook highlights the pattern through May of this year.
"There's still some degree of winter left to be dealt with. A mention of snow is in the forecast for early next week and perhaps beyond."
Summer Fun Guide

If you'd like your event to be included — free of charge — let us know by April 14. Either email firstname.lastname@example.org or post it to our online calendar at news-gazette.com. We'll list activities that occur between May 12 and Sept. 30.
March Madness: Online edition
