New member named to Ludlow school board

LUDLOW — Allen Walker has been named to the Ludlow school board.

Superintendent Dru Lobmaster said Walker moved to the community about two years ago. "He moved here because he was reassigned to this area (by his employer)," Lobmaster said.

Walker's children are grown. Lobmaster said Walker expressed an interest in serving on the school board because "he's interested in the community."

Walker replaces Keli Graham, who resigned from the board in February, due to family health issues.

Also, the board approved:

— Hiring Stronghold Construction to raise the compressor for the school freezer at a cost of $2,049. Lobmaster said the freezer is located outside the building, and she and the board were concerned that it was too close to the ground.

— Two small projects to be completed by Ellis Restoration & Remodeling, including replacing two windows in the cafeteria and protective fencing installation work.
