Shooting of two Champaign men under investigation

CHAMPAIGN — Police are investigating the shooting of two men early Saturday in 100 block of Bellefontaine Street.

About 3:05 a.m., Champaign police responded to a report of multiple gunshots heard on Bellefontaine.

Officers found two male gunshot victims, who provided some information about the incident, but did not include a description of their assailants.

One victim, a 24 year-old Champaign man, was transported by ambulance to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

The second victim, 23, also of Champaign, was taken to the hospital in a privately owned vehicle.

Both victims received treatment for nonlife-threatening gunshot injuries, according to police.

Detectives seek the public's help in identifying anyone involved in this incident.
