Rotary presents plans for Gibson City playground work

By RYAN FERGUSON/Paxton Record

GIBSON CITY — The local Rotary Club presented its final plans to renovate the North Park's playground equipment to the city council's parks and recreation committee.

The estimated cost of the project is $95,000. However, that figure is the absolute ceiling, according to member Gene Everett.

"The more labor we can provide," Everett said, "the more we could take off that dollar figure."

For example, City Superintendent Randy Stauffer said he and other city employees will be able to assist with the concrete labor, which will subtract $2,000 to $3,000.

The Rotary has also raised about $10,000 through two fundraisers dedicated to park improvements.
