Indiana man dies following motorcycle crash

URBANA — An Indiana man died Saturday in Urbana following a motorcycle crash earlier in the week in Clark County.

Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup said that Jackie L. Miller, 73, of Linton, Ind., died at 5:42 p.m. Saturday at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Mr. Miller had been airlifted to Carle following his involvement in a motorcycle accident Thursday morning.

According to a Clark County sheriff’s report, Mr. Miller and a second motorcycle rider crashed in the area of 420th Street just north of 2000th Road in rural Clark County (west of Terre Haute) at 11:15 a.m. Thursday.

Mr. Miller and the other rider, who has not yet been identified, were both taken to Carle.

Northrup said that Mr. Miller died from multiple traumatic injuries he received in the crash.

No autopsy will be performed. Northrup said an inquest may be held at a later date.

The crash is being investigated by the Clark County sheriff’s office and the Champaign County sheriff’s office.
